Your First 30 Days: 2.5mg Starter Dose FAQ
Starting a new clinical treatment can bring up many questions. We’ve compiled the most common inquiries from our community to help you navigate your first month with confidence.
1. "I didn't feel anything after my first dose. Is it working?"
Yes. The 2.5mg (or 0.25mg for Wegovy) dose is a "Loading Dose." Its primary job is to introduce the medication to your system and prepare your receptors—not to cause immediate, massive weight loss. Some people feel the "quieting of food noise" within hours, while for others, it takes 2–3 weeks to build up. Trust the process; your body is adjusting.
2. "What happens if I forget to put my pen back in the fridge?"
Don't panic. Once you have used your pen for the first time, it can stay at room temperature (up to 30°C) for up to 30 days. Just ensure it is kept away from direct heat and sunlight. If it was left out for more than a few hours before its first use, contact our clinical team for advice.
3. "Should I take my injection on an empty stomach?"
You can take your dose with or without food. However, many EverLean patients find that taking the injection in the evening, after a light meal, helps them "sleep through" any initial mild nausea that might occur in the first few hours.
4. "I see a tiny drop of liquid on the needle after I inject. Did I miss my dose?"
A small drop at the tip of the needle is perfectly normal and does not mean you missed your dose. As long as you followed the "5-Second Rule" (holding the needle in for 5 seconds after the dial hits zero), you have received the full treatment.
5. "Can I drink alcohol while on the 2.5mg dose?"
While there is no direct "danger" in mixing the two, we recommend limiting alcohol during the first month. Alcohol can increase the risk of nausea and acid reflux, and it can also mask the "fullness" signals the medication is trying to send to your brain.
6. "When should I order my next strength (5mg)?"
To ensure there is no break in your treatment, we recommend ordering your next pen during your third week of the starter dose. This allows for clinical review and delivery time before your final 2.5mg dose.
Blueprint Tip: The "Morning Check-In"
During your first week, take 30 seconds every morning to check in with your hunger levels. You might find you naturally leave a few bites of breakfast on the plate—that is the medication working with your biology.
